After Words

The title is a play on ‘afterwords’; a P.S. in a letter or an appendix. Here it is also a speculation on what happens after a conversation or a life. Words are left hanging, conversations incomplete and all we have is ourselves to continue that conversation with.
What happens to the words once they are said? Do they remain in the house, in the fabric of the building? Do they get carried away in the air, only remaining in our unreliable memories? Some words stay with us. Others are forgotten.
The sculpture is hand-cut using a scalpel and 160gsm acid-free paper.
